the boy and the starfish
simply because I like the story and I think of it on days like today.
an old man walked along the beach one day. The tide had left thousands of starfish stranded on the beach for miles. he came apon a small boy calmly picking up starfish, one by one, and tossing them back into the sea.
'what are you doing?' asked the man.
'I'm saving the starfish.' the boy replied.
'but young man,' he said. 'you can't save all fo them. there are thousands and thousands of them. do you really think what your doing is making a difference?'
the boy picked up a starfish and showed it to the man saying, 'it does to this one.' and he tossed it back into the sea.

Re: the boy and the starfish
Nice to hear a more light hearted story for once from you, I didn't feel like crying this time.
The message in this story is important for all of us, because we aren't going to be able to fix everything in the world, and in the big picture we may not matter to much. But to the people whose lives we've affected it can mean the world.
Looking at how you do your handouts I can understand how you like this story.
